Brazilian former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso, (1995/2002) said that the serious economic situation faced by Brazil is very complex, will take time to overcome and most surely the impact will be felt in neighboring Uruguay, a country which must target other markets, other economic spaces. “I'm formally asking president Rousseff to show a gesture of greatness, otherwise this, as it is, won't stand much longer”

This is a known coup leader and seller at a bargain price of public property. This same thief crook left half of our young people with no school, no health, no roads, no electricity, no international reserves. This man represents the very worst in Brazilian politics. Anywhere in the world he would be behind bars until the end of his life.

He is a traitor of the Brazilian people. Who wants to know its history and the history of his political gang should read the book “A Privataria Tucana” written by Amaury Ribeiro Jr.

Uruguay should try charting a course independently of both Brazil and Argentina.

Thought trapped by geography it should be trying to overcome that disability. Singapore is a good example of how a small state stuck between two larger, poorer and at times undemocratic and dysfunctional states can become a rich successful country.

You are correct, but the problems we are presently facing have come about directly because of the outgoing murdering commie bastard of a president who squandered the money horded by Vasquez.

As he told the teachers when they pressed him for their wage increases after two YEARS of denying them “we have no money” and the reason was he spent the majority on the stinking poor (and they do stink I can assure you though they smoke and drink).

Vasquez has it all to do again but this time with a malevolent Mujica doing everything he can in the senate to block him.

In my fifth year in Uruguay it is a truism what I was told when I first arrived that “nothing happens for years” within the government.

Quite how Vasquez will make things happens remains to be seen. I can only wish him success.

I think there would be a lot of worldwide goodwill towards Uruguay if they did break the yoke that is dragging them down.

Are you losing your sense of ridicule ? stop gobbling up all the PT lies..
Just for the sake of not allowing you to get away with yet another lie, I must let every one know that your good friend Amaury Ribeiro Jr, besides being a pseudo-journalist , he is a communist-sympathizer affiliated to the PT, who in 2010 was indicted by the Federal Police for illegally obtaining tax information on several PSDB politicians - for the purpose of future blackmail ; other crimes : accused of active corruption, of using false documents, and finally, accused of trying to bribe witnesses who were going to testify against him. He also participated directly in Dilma's last presidential campaign. Therefore, he MUST be a person of untarnished reputation. About as reliable as Lula's claim that he created the Plano Real ( which in 1994 was implemented by FHC as Finance Minister of President Itamar Franco, and was the basis getting Brazil's chronic inflation under control).
    Brasshole, try another !
