A £55.7 million contract to upgrade infrastructure at MPA, in the Falkland Islands was signed this week between Southampton based Trant Engineering Ltd and the UK Defense Infrastructure Organization (DIO). Read full article
I wouldnt be too triumphant about any of the Brasilian construction projects - it appears that big chunks of the money went into corruption/bribery meaning that the on budget games were inf act built by under-budget, bribed, companies.. so as with the cycle path God help those who are in any of the new facilities... I sincerely hope nothing happens but it would not surprise me at all to see stadia collapse.
Although what the heck that has to do with this article I have no idea whatsoever... were you simply doing a generic trawl and couldnt think of anything better to say?
Its significant that, once again, more money is being spent in the Falkland Islands, meaning there is absolutely no lack of confidence in their future under their current leadership and People.
In a few months Brazil will have some expensive monuments to a departed corrupt Government, and the Falkland Islanders will be warm and happy .. who's laughing now?
God Brassy you are so thick! There is little need to upgrade port berthing facilities you arse- look at the picture! Modern Type 45 Destroyers berth there when they visit! That upgrade(separate budget already announced before) is a separate sum and mostly is to upgrade the secondary pontoon berthing were you see the container vessel berthed- it is a stern loading Ro-Ro so actually does not need a full side pier-could not use it!
The money- over several years will be spent on upgrading and modernising the items in the article! Already there is a modern windfarm there which has cut diesel fuel generator costs, but the generators themselves are now 34 yrs old and even at reduced demand thanks to the windfarm will not last for ever!
The British go in for timely budgeted upgrades and replacements- unlike your corrupt and virtually bankrupt nation -= now well into international junk grade credit ratings.
@1. Kind of use to let you know how much a raft costs. How many will you need to clean up Guanabara Bay? Ready for the 2016 Olympics to be marked by the refusal of the world's athletes to use the place? http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2015/dec/02/rio-olympics-2016-water-pollution
Doesn't even comply with what Brazil calls law.
Then there'll be the bill for all the compensation.
Our air defense is far-reaching. We've destroyed your submarine before reaching the threat point, and if we reach we destroy before you blink your eyes.
this has nothing to do with brazil,
and if and when Argentina finds a workable raft and sails to the Falkland's,
they will see what an advanced military looks like,
before the raft sinks.
#13. A submarine launched Trident 2 missile has a range of 7500 miles. Unless you have a bomber with the endurance of something like a B52 (8000 miles give or take) then you won't even get close. Tell me... does Brazil own such an aircraft? I could sell you some nice Play Doh if you think you have the necessary skills to play with it.

Yes, a nice little video of something that has not flown and probably never will.
You are technically decades from producing anything remotely like this.
What ACTUALLY have you got just now. Building fighters designed by Sweden and containing components designed and manufactured in the UK. Your technical input will be assembling aircraft from kits of parts -hardly cutting edge technology
hahaha This money is not enough to build a mooring rafts
That's because in Brazil the price would be inflated by at least 100% so all the corrupt politicians could take their share and hundreds of government workers could be employed to do nothing all day.

Are you a Russian ? What has a Russian air defence missile got to do with Brazil. Do you have it in operation ?
.airmissiledefencebrazil.com. Read this !!!!!!!
How can an air defence missile sink a submarine 2000 miles away.
Give us the benefit of your extensive knowledge.
You are without doubt, the stupidest and most ignorant poster on mercopress forums....and that is saying something !
If indeed he IS in Canada, he must be locked up in Enrique's basement.
I demented raving communist like Brassiere couldn't possibly roam the streets of Alberta alone, not long before he was beaten up or locked up as a loonie.
@5. You have some very strange ideas. As though toilet paper were a measure of a country's wealth. Although, judging by Guanabara Bay, it seems as though Brazil is in terminal poverty. As a matter of interest, is their any connection between Guana**** and guano? Perhaps it's really Shitbay. I wonder why you post so many links to Youtube videos. I doubt many people look at them and it displays your inability to use words of your own.
@7. Have you forgotten that Brazilians are invaders and occupiers? Just like argies, you demonstrate that the only thing that matters is force. Perhaps you should see yourselves as unwelcome tenants. Have you done enough to the indigenous population so that they can never kick you out? What would REAL Brazilian infrastructure look like? Because all you have is imported Portuguese. And what makes it your continent? Force again! And you can't even govern honestly and attain civilisation.
Oh and guess who you have to ask for training on how to get off a boat? Or have you forgotten that it Britain that came to show you beach landings?
Hepatia's 25 years never comes.... so really what Hepatia is claiming is that Argentinean sovereignty over the Falklands will NEVER arrive.
It's actually quite nice when you realise that. Like Argentina finally realising that the Malvinas are just a mirage that keep receding into the future.
