Falklands operating budget surplus keeps increasing

The Falkland Islands forecast operating budget surplus for the current financial year sits at £33m, Standing Finance Committee (SFC) was told on Wednesday. The surplus, up from the previous forecast of £27m, has been boosted by fishing company corporation tax payments, which have been “significantly higher than budget.” Read full article

    revert to the older technology crystal ball which produced less dramatic variation. if the revenues are unable to be more accurately forecast, allocated and invested for internal self-government purposes a larger contribution towards defence would not doubt be welcomed by hmg.

    the financial planning model is ideal for keeping mlas in the dark and preventing them from choosing what to do with all of the money. by default it remains in the kitty and can't be appropriated.
