The CGT leaders had resisted calling a general strike, demanded by most of its members.

And even when they finally caved in, they still refused to call for street demonstrations. Leftist parties and combative unions, however, are calling their members to get out.

The strike is being supported with rare unanimity, not only by the CGT but by two other workers' confederations (CTAs) as well as MASA (Argentine Union Action Movement) and associations gathering small and medium-size enterprises.

The government, of course, seeks to minimize the importance of the measure, which means society is losing patience facing an insensitive government.

As said Abraham Lincoln: “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

What a ridiculous state of affairs. Has anyone actually told the Citizens of Argentina the truth there country is bankrupt, flat on its back broke and no matter what Political party is in power they take turns mismanaging that country. You never pay your bills so why should anyone loan you one penny. The rest of the planet should just write you off and after you reach rock bottom you might put your own house in order. Until then stop asking for more loans the rest of us are sick of it.
