Small groups of well organized, masked individuals threw things at police, damaged private and public property, and provided the police with a motive to attack the demonstrators with water cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets and multiple arrestations. Videos show a policeman depositing a crow bar beside a demonstrator lying on the ground and being handcuffed. Another masked individual was pushed by demonstrators away from a private vehicle he was trying to vandalize. One provocateur was recorded prior to putting on his mask and may be identified.

Not a single one among the masked provocateurs, however, was detained.

Of course, the government was in a hurry to obtain approval for a budget that will do nothing but deepen a recession that is already spreading misery among the majority of Argentines.

No points for guessing who sent these well organized, masked individuals. The other day the justice system questioned Máximo Kirchner about money from kickbacks and bribes that he allegedly distributed among members of his youth movement, La Cámpora. Pablo Moyano, the son of the most powerful trade unionist in Argentina, was also forced to appear before a judge on corruption charges. The recession is a reality but masked individuals were there to deliver a different kind of message.
