Chinese-built trains help renew Cuba's obsolete railways
For the first time since the 1970s, Cuba has new trains rolling on the island after the first train made up entirely of Chinese cars left Havana Friday on a 14-hour, 835-km journey to Santiago de Cuba, the second-largest city on the island.

Argentina's defence minister, Oscar Aguad, will publish on Monday a summary prepared by the Mayor state of that country, Infobae reported, establishing the military responsibilities of the Navy in the sinking of the submarine ARA San Juan, found at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean on November 2018, one year after its vanishing.

No fatalities as Hurricane Barry hits Louisiana but spares New Orleans
No serious injuries or major damage were reported as Barry reached the state of Louisiana Saturday as a Category 1 hurricane. It did not hit New Orleans directly but caused power cuts and brought floods to several areas along the southern part of the Mississippi River.

Power cut hits NYC for almost four hours
Less than a month after a similar episode although at a larger scale happened in almost the entire southern cone, a power cut hit New York for about four hours Saturday, affecting some 72,000 customers, in the city's western area and landmarks such as Times Square, causing havoc and unrest when metro lines and theatres came to a standstill.
