The same thing is done here in the USA where 15,000 Haitians trespassed the US/Mexican border to enter the country. Their belongings placed on the ground were taken and destroyed. Including the American homeless people cannot place personal things on sidewalks or block roads with tents, suitcases, bags, shopping carts, boxes. etc.

This has absolutely nothing to do with children being mistreated.

My Chile has always been a nation of compassion and welcoming to hundred’s of thousands of immigrants — but the illegal influx that include a tremendous number of Haitians has become completely unacceptable.

Chile has achieved a control over the pandemic with the highest percentage of vaccinations in Latin America. The illegally entered immigrants are not tested for infection and unfortunately many are infected with the deadly variants which have proven very problematic — and many times resort to crime in order to survive.

Chile is no more xenophobic than Europe or the United States — but the illegal crossings of our border of thousands of immigrants needs to be stopped.

And you must have helped with the mistreatment of immigrants. Or are not all “Caucasians” the same?

In defense of SB4 — the United States has always provided compassionate assistance of large groups of immigrants — but the current influx of migrants illegally crossing into their country is untenable.

(I would note many are documented as Haitians that were originally settled into Chile and were flown to Mexico to seek economic benefits in the USA!)

I did enjoyed your “Amazônia: Paraíso dos Araras” video and unfortunately many people do not realize that the vast Amazon basin covers the territory of seven countries!

Thanks, Chicureo. The video tries to show that human help is important in building a prosperous society. No one is safe from the vicissitudes of life. “Love your neighbor as yourself”!

Race has nothing to do with the mistreatment of immigrants. The problem is the majority of immigrants can not adjust to their new country's culture, language, and work demands. Most of them do not have good working skills. Others expect to receive a free living. The immigrants now are very different from the first immigrants that arrived in America many years ago, legally,
and work very hard to earn a living without complaining.

First: There is only one race, Human!

Second: Immigrant brings suffering inside him. Supporting doesn't hurt.

Third: Your forgotten country, just like mine and like USA we were made of immigrants and slavery. Either you are part of our world, or you can go live in Switzerland!

“supporting doesn't hurt” ...? I support legal immigration. Anyone that supports illegals migrants is a criminal.
My mother immigrated from Spain to Argentina in 1924 at the age of 18, she hardly had an elementary education but she understood to have a passport to enter legally, within a month she got a job working as a housekeeper and did not complain of anything.

She worked for a physician's family for 4 years and then married my father. The fact that she reached almost 90 years is because she did like vegetables and fruit. Every dinner started with lentils, cabbage, or potatoes soup. Very seldom bought beef except for ground beef for meatballs and spaghetti. Dessert was compote or panqueques de membrillos. She was healthy and strong. For years she washed bed sheets and our clothes without a washer machine, and walk together with my sister and brother to our school when had missed the school bus.

Thanks for sharing your mother’s story and I’m disappointed that anyone would demean her experience. (By the way — porotos granados is one of our family favorite dishes!)

It is documented in several news sources — authorities have found an enormous discarded national identity cards of Haitians that originally emigrated to Chile and Brazil.

Those uncounted multitude of thousands flew to the Mexican border to illegally enter into the United States for economic benefits.

Chile’s experience with Haitians is that they all are functionally illiterate and unskilled with no real desire to succeed. Certainly it compares with many immigrant Venezolanos who actually have university degrees.

Most of Latin America consists of emigrants and many of mixed mestizo ancestry with only a small percentage being actually truly indigenous.

My family documented origins to Chile began in the 1600s as impoverished mercenaries from Spain and the last wave of my poverty-stricken ancestors came mostly from Scotland in the 1800s.

Our experience here on the farm is they are capable for seasonal harvesting of avocados but are difficult to train how to pick and pack table grapes. We’ve experienced unfortunate discord between the local population and the Haitian workforce which has increased recently.

I would like to mention that the 15,000 Haitians seen at the Texas/Mexico border last week are the Biden-Harris administration's fault. Biden stopped the construction of the wall and have open borders the first day that he stepped into the Oval office. As soon he saw the mess he caused, Biden named Kamala Harris in charge to resolve the crisis with unsuccessful results. For those who are unaware of the mentality of our present leaders, there is a big problem with these two leaders. There are 16 governors that requested a meeting with Biden-Harris at the White House with ideas on how to secure our borders, but Biden so far has not accepted their help. Many wealthy ranchers from Texas and Arizona have offered to donate their lands for the construction of the wall to protect our national security. Biden-Harris permitted 12,000 Haitians to enter the US, unvaccinated, and are permitted to have a Court date before they are deported back to their country by plane costing millions of dollars. As of this moment, C-SPAN television is showing members of Congress debating the necessity for government funding through December 3. The cleaning of the Texas/Mexico border site cost millions of dollars and unless Biden-Harris presents a plan to close the border the country is getting in more debt. So far, the USA Debt Clock has reached 28 Trillion dollars in debt.

Although I’m not against legal controlled immigration — but what we have experienced in Chile as well as the United States is socially disruptive and very negative for the lesser skilled domestic working class.

Although the substancial increase of seasonal labor has been positive for the agricultural sector — it has been highly detrimental to lower income Chileans.

Chile and the United States cannot absorb countless numbers of economic migrants.

One of the unfortunate consequences of the pandemic is a globalists political reset which is hurting the middle class of our two countries.
