    Argentina's Foreign Ministry issued a statement Wednesday recognizing Edmundo González Urrutia of the Unitarian Democratic Platform (PUD) as the “undisputed winner” winner of the July 28 polls in Venezuela, in defiance of the results announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE) whereby the incumbent Nicolás Maduro had been reelected for the 2025-2031 term.

Fernández is believed to have committed these aggressions at the Olivos presidential residence, according to Clarín.

    Argentina decrees 63% hike on Paraná-Paraguay Waterway tolls

    The Argentine administration of President Javier Milei decreed a 63% hike in the tolls collected from barges sailing through the Paraguay-Paraná Waterway effective this month. The adjustment set a new price of US$ 4.98 (from the previous US$ 3.06) per Net Register Ton (NRT). The figure is projected to reach US$ 6.04 per TRN in 2027.

    Milei and Macri meet at Olivos presidential residence

    Macri said at a rally that he would still support Milei but PRO and LLA would not merge

    Argentine President Javier Milei welcomed former head of state Mauricio Macri (2015-2019) at the Olivos residence. The private encounter lasted about four hours. No information was released about the issues discussed but Spokesman Manuel Adorni said it was “a meeting of friends.” According to local media, it was a follow-up on the talks they held on July 8 and 9 in Tucumán during the signing of the so-called May Pact.
