    Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Friday expressed her disappointment after the credit rating agency Moody's lowered her country's grading from stable to negative citing an alleged “institutional weakening.” The newly elected head of state insisted “more arguments or evidence” were needed to back up that claim and denounced that there was a bias against Mexico. On Thursday, Moody's changed Mexico's credit outlook from stable to negative, due to a recent reform to the Judiciary.

    Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP) foreign trade (Comex) report released Wednesday in Asunción showed a US$ 57.1 million surplus last month after exports amounted to US$ 13.6649 billion against imports worth US$ 13.6077 billion. In other words, sales fell 4.5% yoy while purchases grew 5.1%.

    Argentina's National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec) Tuesday announced that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) went up 2.7% in October, which represented a significant slowdown from previous months despite an interannual 193% increase and 107% in 2024 alone. October's inflation was the lowest figure in almost three years. In November 2021, it stood at 2.5%. September's inflation was 3.5%.

    Paraguay's Labor Ministry confirmed this week a fall in unemployment after nearly 57,000 people found new jobs during this year's third quarter. Between April and June, there were 2,849,766 registered workers and the number went up to 2,906,475 between July and September, the Labor Observatory pointed out. Of the 56,709 new jobs, around 41,000 stemmed from the private sector.
