    Paris and Los Angeles will host 2014 and 2018 summer Olympics

    IOC President Thomas Bach -- a driving force behind the decision to confirm 2024 and 2028 at the same time -- hailed the joint award as a “win-win-win.”

    Paris and Los Angeles celebrated their coronation as host cities for the 2024 and 2028 Olympics here on Wednesday, delivering a jolt of good news for the International Olympic Committee as it battles escalating corruption allegations. In a drama-free conclusion to a three-year bidding race, IOC members voted unanimously to rubber-stamp a deal hashed out in July for Paris to be given 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.

    Rio 2016 Olympic Games, another can of worms, ...and of Olympic corruption

    The disclosures came as police in Rio de Janeiro raided the home of Brazilian Olympic Committee President Carlos Nuzman.

    Brazilian and French authorities said on Tuesday they uncovered an international corruption scheme aimed at buying votes in awarding the 2016 Olympics. It is the latest allegation to tarnish the legacy of the Rio Games, the first Olympics in South America.

    Falklands youths and adults learning ball hockey with Canadian coaches

    Experienced Canadian coaches Gary Slavin and Dave Weloy have made the journey across the globe to coach Falkland Islands youths and adults in the sport of ball hockey.     Children and athletes from every active sports club marked the Baton’s route

    The Commonwealth Games Queens Baton visits all 71 Commonwealth countries and territories on its journey from Buckingham Palace to the host city. In 2018 that is Gold Coast in Australia; one territory is missing from the relay, because it has not been possible to schedule St Helena this year. However several Saints saw and carried the baton in the Falkland Islands, so we have helped a little bit.

    The Queen's Baton Relay of the Commonwealth Games has arrived in the Falkland Islands. The baton carries a message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Head of the Commonwealth, and is travelling around the world prior to the beginning of the Commonwealth Games in April 2018. This tradition began in 1958. The baton visit was organised by the Falkland Islands Overseas Games Association (FIOGA)
