  A provincial lawmaker from Misiones northeast Argentina had to meet with six organizations of Malvinas Veterans and apologize for having taken the oath of office last week, wearing a T-shirt with the colors of the Union Jack.

  Falklands' flagged RRS Sir David Attenborough reaches “home”; anchored at Port William

  

  RRS Sir David Attenborough has completed the first leg of its journey to Antarctica, arriving in the Falkland Islands on 9 December. Since the draft of Britain’s new polar ship is too large for it to berth in Stanley harbor, so the ship will anchor north of the Narrows at Port William. However, the ship is visible from vantage points around the coastline.

  Argentina's Xmas present: Falklands offered two humanitarian flights for residents to visit relatives

  

  Britain allegedly thanked Argentina for its offer of two humanitarian flights so that Falkland Islands residents could visit relatives, mainly in Chile, or for other reasons during the holidays season, but the UK also recalled that air links with the Islands are the exclusive responsibility of the Falklands' elected government.

  Fresh air for Falklands' oil industry: Navitas to become operator with Rockhopper, and Harbour exits

  

  Encouraging news for the Falkland Islands budding hydrocarbons industry. Rockhopper Exploration officially announced on Wednesday that it had reached a new agreement with Navitas Petroleum by which its potential farm-in portion of the Sea Lion project increases significantly, while the current holder of the majority share, Harbour Energy exits the undertaking.

  Unexpected call of Viking Jupiter to Uruguay; she's scheduled to visit the Falkland Islands

  

  The Atlantic coast resort Punta del Este received on Saturday the first cruise vessel since the start of the pandemic. The expedition cruise Viking Jupiter was scheduled to travel to Buenos Aires, but since it had stopped at Cape Verde islands in Africa, Argentina is demanding a fourteen day quarantine before letting anybody in the country.

  Argentine Federal Court upholds Stanley landing ship must not be scrapped

  

  A Bahía Blanca Federal Court of Appeals has upheld a judicial ruling whereby the decommissioned destroyer ARA Santísima Trinidad which took part in the Apr. 2, 1982 landing at Port Stanley, can not be sold as scrap metal, despite its current state of deterioration.

  The Falkland Islands Government has invited the public to welcome the RRS Sir David Attenborough as it makes its maiden voyage into the Falkland Islands on Thursday 9 December 2021.
