  Multicultural Falklands organizing 'multicultural takeaway' in support of humanitarian needs in Turkey and Syria

  

  Generous Falkland Islands are again organizing to aid human tragedy, this time to collect funds to help with the recovery of the tragic earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria, with an estimated loss of plus 41,000 lives and millions of dollars as hundreds of thousands were left homeless with the collapse of hundreds of buildings.

  “The Falklands are and will remain British,” MPs from the Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme

  

  Rob Butler MP, Conservative MP for Aylesbury, and Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi MP Labour for Slough are in the Falklands as part of the UK Armed Forces Parliamentary Scheme, a program ongoing for more than thirty years with the purpose of better-educating Members of the House of Commons, the House of Lords and others in military matters.

  On Tuesday afternoon Members of Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly met with the Falklands40 UK Student competition winners, who arrived in the Islands on Monday. MLAs thanked the group for their interest in wanting to visit the Islands, and for sharing their insight on the modern Falklands.

  Ariane and Shannon qualified in leadership and management by Falklands government

  Malvinas to be returned to Argentina soon, says Argentine Defense Minister

  

  Argentine Defense Minister Jorge Taiana said the Malvinas Islands were to be restored “sooner rather than later... to its legitimate owners.” He made those remarks to veterans from the 1982 war attending the reopening of the Air Force's Base in Rìo Gallegos, from where converted training IA-63 Pampa III jets with fighting capabilities will “monitor and control” the South Atlantic enclave. The unit had not had combat aircraft since 1996.

  Argentina's Victor Angelescu collecting scientific data for CCAMLR in South Georgia waters

  Following the adoption of the Falkland Islands Environment Strategy 2021 – 2040 by the Executive Council in late 2021, there has been much work across government towards achieving the Vision of the Strategy. The first progress report for 2022 has been released and is available on the FIG Environment Department website.
