  The Falkland Islands Executive Council has approved measures to restrict non essential visitors to the Islands in order to help delay the spread of the Covid/19 in the archipelago.

  Falklands: five cases of COVID-19, all of them serving at Mount Pleasant Complex

  

  The Falkland Islands government announced on Wednesday that there are five confirmed cases of COVID-19, all individuals currently serving at the Mount Pleasant Complex, some fifty kilometers from the capital Stanley. This means no residents of the Islands have been contaminated with the virus.

  Falklands' Sea Lion development delayed responding to oil market conditions

  

  Rockhopper Exploration is responding to market developments by reducing staffing levels and activity related to the Sea Lion development in the offshore North Falkland basin. The company plans to maintain a smaller team, mainly focused on regulatory, fiscal and financial issues, pending a recovery in the external macro-environment.

  Falklands confirms second Covid 19 case; patient is in isolation at the MPC

  

  The Falkland Islands government announced on Sunday of a second case of Covid 19, although the patient remains under isolation conditions at the Mount Pleasant Complex, the UK defense outpost of the Islands.

  Falklands reports first Covid 19 positive result: MPA member with no ventilator and in stable condition

  

  The Falkland Islands government announced on Friday the first positive result of the Covid 19 virus. The case was confirmed following the reception of virus results returned from the UK, via the Airbridge.

  Argentina under lockdown makes time to recall the start of the Malvinas conflict, 38 years ago

  

  “On April 2nd we claim sovereignty over our Malvinas Islands” was the message twitted by Argentine president Alberto Fernandez on the Malvinas War Veteran and Fallen Day, outstanding date in the official calendar of the country which recalls that 38 years ago, Argentine forces invaded the Falklands, triggering a conflict that would end 74 days later.

  Airbridge flights provide Falklands with a steady flow of Covid-19 test samples

  

  Some 86 tests for COVID-19 from Falkland Islands residents have returned negative results, it was confirmed on Wednesday. A total of 124 tests have been sent for analysis to the UK so far, with some 38 results still awaited. Thus until Wednesday, April first, the Falklands have no confirmed COVID-19 cases.

  Falklands Office in London remains open for business and stranded Islanders

  

  On the advice of the UK Prime Minister, the Falkland Islands Government Office in London is closed and all staff is working from home. Despite this FIGO is working as normal and remains available to help all Islanders in the UK, Falkland Islands organizations, FIG, and anyone traveling to and from the Islands.
