  Malvinas Day will be remembered every 2 April in Puerto Argentino (Stanley), when sovereignty is recovered

  

  The Argentine Senate has approved a bill establishing the Day of the Malvinas War Veteran and Fallen, which will be remembered every April 2nd in the Tierra del Fuego city of Puerto Argentino (Stanley, Falkland Islands), once sovereignty over the Islands is recovered. Until then the event will take place in the city of Ushuaia, capital of the Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and South Atlantic Islands province.

  Falklands at the Expo-Prado: Argentina makes official its disappointment to Uruguay

  

  In a Sunday release the Argentine government regretted the presence of the Falkland Islands stand at the Prado agro-industry show which is taking place in Montevideo, and said it expects collaboration from the Uruguayan government.

  Falklands approves a Revised List of Prohibited Persons to the Islands

  

  The Falkland Islands has approved a Revised List of Prohibited Persons, plus a number of recommendations on the issue. The news was included in the last edition of the weekly Penguin News and refers to an Executive Council meeting a week ago.

  Argentine embassy disappointed with Falklands stand at the Prado show

  

  The Argentine embassy met with officials from the Uruguayan Rural Association, ARU, to express their disappointment since the Falkland Islands have a stand at the Great Britain pavilion in the Prado agro-industry show in Montevideo, according to a report from Television Nacional, which belongs to the Uruguayan government media complex.

  Falklands' legislation database to be provided by Australian Tech Company

  

  Government-focused services provider, Leidos Australia, has won an export deal with the Falkland Islands Government for the provision of technology solutions based on its TeraText suite of products. Under the new deal, all the laws of the Falklands will, for the first time, be made available to the public, using the Australian-built technology.

  Falklands' Sea Lion funding, Rockhopper's primary focus until end of 2018

  Expo-Prado agro-industrial show opens in Montevideo

  

  Uruguay's main agricultural, industrial and commercial show, Expo/Prado 2017 opened in Montevideo on Wednesday. The annual event, which this year is international, (it rotates with Argentina's Palermo show) is an opportunity for city people to admire the best cattle, sheep, horses and hogs of the region, and for the farmers a chance to see how much technology has advanced in the last twelve months.

  Bishop Tim Thornton, new bishop to HM Forces and for the Falklands

  

  The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby commissioned and licensed Bishop Tim Thornton as the new Bishop to HM Forces, Bishop for the Falkland Islands and Bishop at Lambeth. Bishop Tim, previously Bishop of Truro, takes up this new three-part role following the retirement of the Rt Revd Nigel Stock.

  Falklands' Darwin cemetery holds 121 single unmarked graves reveals Red Cross

  

  Humanitarian exhumation tasks at the Darwin cemetery in the Falkland Islands unearthed 121 body remains of Argentine combatants, and not 123 as originally expected, revealed the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC, during a media conference in Buenos Aires.
