  Falklands' government congratulates new Labor leader, Jeremy Corbyn

  

  The Falkland Islands Government has congratulated the Leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn MP on his election success. Mr Corbyn’s campaign to take up leadership after Ed Miliband resigned in May, touched a raw nerve with some Islanders after media picked up on a BBC interview from two years ago in which he said a “degree of joint administration,” could be used as a solution to the dispute over the Falkland Islands.

  Malvinas war declassified documents delivered to Argentine veterans

  

  Argentina's Defense minister Austin Rossi handed Malvinas veterans a report on the 1982 South Atlantic conflict compiled from recently declassified military documents. The report handed to Ernesto Alonso, head of the Malvinas former combatants national committee was drafted by the ministry's Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law desks.

  HMS Endurance up for sale; she never recovered from the 2008 accident

  

  The Royal Navy has put its Ice Patrol ship, HMS Endurance, up for sale. The icebreaker served as the Royal Navy ice patrol ship between 1991 and 2008 before an accident during routine maintenance destroyed a large part of her equipment.
