  Falklands: Cristina Fernandez met Snowden in Moscow to talk about UK spying on Argentina, reveals BAH

  

  President Cristina Fernandez met with former US National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden when she visited Moscow in April, according to the Buenos Aires Herald. Snowden became world famous when in 2013 when he revealed the extent of Washington’s global Internet and phone surveillance.

  Falklands faces fiscal 2015/16 with surplus budget, all industries prospering and 1.4% inflation

  

  The Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly received on Tuesday the Appropriation Bill which allows for expenditure of £61.4M pounds in the fiscal year 2015/16, supported by revenues of £56.9M and a projected £4.9M from oil and gas exploration, thus completing another surplus year.

  Falklands announces program to mark liberation anniversary from Argentine occupation

  

  The Falkland Islands will be marking the anniversary of the liberation of the Islands from Argentine occupation with a vast program scheduled for Sunday 14, June, 2015, in the capital Stanley.<
  The program includes a religious service, a ceremony at Liberation Monument and later a reception hosted by Falkland Islands governor Colin Roberts. MLA Ian Hansen will be presented with the South Atlantic Medal on behalf of all Islanders.

  Falklands born Alejandro Betts entitled to vote in coming Argentine elections

  

  For the first time a man born in the Falkland Islands, will be voting in the coming Argentine elections, according to reports in the Buenos Aires media. The man is Alejandro Betts, 58, who received his Argentine ID at a ceremony in the Argentine embassy before United Nations, and will thus be eligible to cast a ballot in the coming Tierra del Fuego provincial and municipal elections.

  Falkland Islands welcomes 'oil discovery' at the Isobel Deep exploration

  

  The Falkland Islands Government welcomed Thursday's announcement by Premier Oil and partners that the 14/20-1 ‘Isobel Deep’ exploration well has been declared an “oil discovery”. Isobel Deep in the North Falkland basin, is the second well of a six-well offshore campaign planned to take place in the Islands waters through 2015.

  Falklands War plates' complaint rejected by BBC Trust: 'lack of evidence'

  

  The BBC Trust has rejected complaints over Top Gear's Patagonia special, in which a car number plate which appeared to refer to the 1982 Falklands war. The production team fled Argentina following protests over the use of the registration number H982 FKL.
