He is the Falkland Islander who went to Argentina at the end of the 1982 Falklands war; adopted the Spanish version of his name, and portrayed himself as an honourable man who had carefully studied Falklands’ history and reached the conclusion that the Falklands belonged to Argentina.

  Falklands delegates will again ask Decolonization Committee to delist the Islands

  

  Falkland Islands elected lawmakers with be delivering speeches on Thursday before the United Nations Decolonization Committee as petitioners requesting C24 de-lists the Islands from the Non Self Governing Territories, upholds the Falkland Islanders right to self determination and frees them from the continuous Argentine bullying and harassment.

  Falklands delegate attending annual Red Ensign Group conference in Bermuda

  

  The Falkland Islands is represented at the 25th Annual Red Ensign Group, REG, conference which is taking place in the town of St George's, Bermuda. Minister of Tourism Development and Transport Shawn Crockwell, delivered the opening remarks and welcomed the overseas delegates attending the conference that the Bermuda Department of Maritime Administration is hosting.

  Falklands-born Alexander Betts candidate for a Mercosur parliament seat

  

  Alejandro Betts, born in the Falklands and now full Argentine citizen will run for office in the Mercosur Parliament, Parlasur, in representation of the Tierra del Fuego province, although he must first overcome the 9 August PASO primaries (open, simultaneous and mandatory), according to reports from the official Argentine news agency, Telam.

  New antiaircraft missile test in Falklands, on fears of “more Argentine aggression”

  

  The Sunday Express has revealed that a live-fire training exercise will be taking place in the Falkland Islands with the participation of Royal Marines deploying high velocity missiles against “incoming attack aircraft” with the purpose of demonstrating combat capacity and to show that the UK can deploy high readiness troops.

  Argentine province makes it mandatory to sing a march dedicated to Malvinas Islands

  

  The Argentine province of Salta has passed a law forcing people to sing a song at every public event declaring that the Falkland Islands belong to Argentina. The law will also require every state school in the province to sing the song, known as ”Lilian Guitián, alongside the national anthem.
