  South Georgia Biosecurity Handbook Update Released

  

  The latest version of the Government of South Georgia & South Sandwich Islands Biosecurity Handbook is now available online. The Handbook details the procedures which are in place to help reduce the risk of harmful non-native species and disease entering the Territory, along with the steps in place to detect them and limit their spread should they arrive.

  Consistent decline of biomass forces Falklands early closure of Loligo season

  

  The Falkland Islands Fisheries Department (FIFD) conducted a pre-season survey for the winter Loligo ‘X’ licence season, working in close partnership with local companies. The survey results showed the lowest winter pre-season survey biomass estimates since 2008, a total of 19,859 tons.

  Falklands Argos Resources negotiating its North Falkland Basin production license with Canadian company

  

  Falkland Islands oil and gas exploration Argos Resources Ltd has announced changes in its board of directors, until a general meeting of shareholders is announced, and the executive directors finalize the sale of its PL001 production license interests in the North Falkland Basin to JHI Associates. The Argos sold asset is expected to be a shareholding in JHI.

  Dublin Rose relishes her incredible time growing up in the Falkland Islands

  

  Bethany Cushing from Ballyhea has been selected as Dublin Rose 2023, and joined contestants from all over Ireland and further afield for the top Rose of Tralee Festival that took place this week. The Rose of Tralee international festival celebrated this year its 62nd year, and was broadcast live from the Kerry Sports Academy in Tralee.
