
Argentina's Jewish community sent a strong letter to foreign minister Susana Malcorra rejecting and condemning the administration of president Mauricio Macri for having supported a controversial Unesco resolution under the heading of “Occupied Palestine”.

Thursday's “Stronger in Europe” rally at Gibraltar at which UK Prime Minister David Cameron was due to speak, was cancelled at the last minute after Labour MP Jo Cox was shot and stabbed in an attack in West Yorkshire. The news of the fatal attack came shortly after Cameron arrived t the Rock.

A British member of Parliament died on Thursday after she was shot and stabbed in a horrific assault in her constituency, police have said. Jo Cox, Labour MP for Batley and Spen, north England, was left bleeding on the ground after the attack in Birstall, West Yorkshire. A man was arrested nearby. One eyewitness was reported stating that her attacker shout put Britain first at least twice beforehand.

The Bank of England has warned that uncertainty about the EU referendum is the largest immediate risk facing global financial markets. The bank said there were risks of adverse spillovers to the global economy from the 23 June vote and it was increasingly likely that sterling would fall further - perhaps sharply - in the event of a leave vote, the Bank added.

Canada became the first observer country to enter into a strategic partnership with the Pacific Alliance. Chrystia Freeland, minister of International trade and ministers of the four countries of the alliance—Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru—signed a joint declaration today in Mexico City.

Foreign minister Susana Malcorra reiterated Argentina's call to OAS state members to continue supporting the resumption of negotiations on the Falklands/Malvinas question. A controversy which she said, involves the whole southern hemisphere.

The Organization of American States, OAS, approved on Wednesday a declaration calling on Argentina and Great Britain to resume negotiations on the Falklands/Malvinas question as soon as possible.
