    Princess Cruises contracts construction of two next generation 175.000-ton ships

    The vessels will each accommodate some 4,300 guests and will be the first Princess Cruises ships to be dual-fuel powered primarily by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)

    Princess Cruises and Fincantieri announced on Thursday the signing of the final contracts for the construction of two next-generation 175,000-ton cruise ships, which will be the largest ships ever built so far in Italy, with deliveries scheduled in Monfalcone in late 2023 and in March 2025. This announcement follows the initial signing of a memorandum of agreement between the two parties in July 2018.

    Falklands' fleet will incorporate state of the art trawler in 2021

    The Falkland Islands will add to its registered fleet a state of the art trawler which should be operational by 2021 belonging to a local joint venture company, Petrel Fishing Company Ltd. In early 2019, the Board of Fortuna Ltd approved the construction of a new trawler to join their current fleet of five trawlers. The vessel will be owned and operated by Fortuna Joint Venture Company - “Petrel Fishing Company Ltd”.

    Boeing says it has made changes to the control systems linked to fatal crashes

    As part of the upgrade, Boeing will install as a standard a warning system, which was previously an optional safety feature.

    Boeing has issued changes to controversial control systems linked to two fatal crashes of its 737 Max planes in the last five months. But it's still not certain when the planes, that were grounded worldwide this month, will be allowed to fly. Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the accidents.

    China orders 300 jets from Airbus during Xi's visit to Paris

    The order is part of a package of deals signed during Mr Xi's visit to Europe. It comes as rival Boeing has grounded all of its 737 Max jets after two fatal crashes.

    Airbus has secured an order from China for 300 jets, in a deal estimated to be worth tens of billions of dollars. An agreement to purchase A320 and A350 XWB aircraft was signed during a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Paris.

In 2016 the UK-based carmaker sued Jiangling Motor Corporation over its Landwind X7 sport utility vehicle, which the company claimed bore an extremely similar resemblance to the Range Rover Evoque.

    GM announces US$ 2.5bn investment in Brazilian car industry

    The Falkland Islands Executive Council on Wednesday approved a formal procurement process to issue an Invitation to Tender (ITT) to the global construction market to select and appoint a preferred development partner for the design, construction and potentially the operation of a new port facility. The tender will also invite bidders to submit funding options.
