  Paraguay's shipping business needs Paraná River dredged as soon as possible

  

  Paraguay's Congress will be asked to declare a hydrological emergency in the Paraná River to speed up dredging after members of the Paraná Joint Commission (Comip) discussed the hydro-climatological last week and agreed on the next actions, Merchant Marine Director Patricio Ortega explained in Asunción.

  Falklands: Consultation to begin on Sea Lion offshore oil development, north of the Islands

  

  Following an extraordinary sitting of Executive Council on Monday 17 June, the Falkland Islands Government has agreed that there will be a public consultation from Monday 24 June to Monday 5 August 2024, on the Environmental Impact Statement for the Sea Lion Field Northern Development Area, Phase 1 and 2, which has been submitted by Navitas Petroleum Development and Production Limited.

  Uruguay takes delivery of South Korean-built patrol boat

  

  During a ceremony earlier this week at the South Korean Jinhae Naval Base, Uruguay's Navy took delivery of the Chamsuri class ROU 10 Huracán patrol vessel donated by the hosting country. The handover resulted from negotiations undertaken last year by then-Defense Minister Javier García to strengthen the South American country's capabilities to participate in United Nations Peacekeeping Operations as the main focus. South Korea has recently transferred other units to the Navies of Peru and Colombia.

  The Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly is pleased to share that MLAs Teslyn Barkman and Gavin Short have been in Washington D.C as part of a small Falklands Delegation since Sunday, June 9th, ahead of the UN Committee of 24 on Decolonization on the 18th of June.
