  At least 35 gang members gunned down in Haiti

  

  At least 35 members of the gang Viv Ansanm were gunned down by Haitian law enforcement, and 40 others were wounded, last week in a violent clash in the Port-au-Prince suburb of Pacot, the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) reported. In addition, six Haitian National Police (PNH) officers and five fighters of the Canapé-Vert vigilante brigades fell in combat.

  Bolivia and Chile boost diplomatic ties

  

  Bolivia and Chile agreed during a ceremony Saturday at Viru Viru airport in Santa Cruz on mutual exemption of visas and residence permits for holders of diplomatic and official passports. The event took place as the first Boliviana de Aviación to Santiago -with a stopover in Iquique- was to depart.

  Bolivian consul in La Quiaca found dead

  

  Vicente Esteban Coico Quispe, the 57-year-old Bolivian consul in the Argentine town of La Quiaca just across the border, was found dead after being reported missing since April 13, 2025. He had last been seen leaving his home in La Paz, Bolivia, and his body was discovered in La Quiaca, prompting a joint investigation by Bolivian and Argentine authorities.

  Chubut Governor and Guatemalan Ambassador discuss possible joint initiatives

  Brazil and Chile sign 13 agreements, including two key defense ones

  

  Defense Ministers Adriana Delpiano of Chile and José Mucio Monteiro of Brazil signed Tuesday two agreements: one for exchanging instructor officers between Chile’s Joint Peace Operations Training Center (Cecopac) and its Brazilian counterpart (Ccopab) to enhance peacekeeping training, and another for academic cooperation between Chile’s National Academy of Political and Strategic Studies (ANEPE) and the Brazilian Defense College (ESD) to advance research and training in security and defense.

  Boric lands in Brazil for 4-day State visit
