    Maduro not attending Celac summit after all

    The Venezuelan leader said he endorsed the initiative by Argentina and Brazil to work on a common currency

    Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro canceled his trip to Buenos Aires for the VII Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac). Upon announcing his decision, Maduro spoke of an “aggression plan” from the “neo-fascist right” which endangered his presence in the Argentine capital.

    Evo says Argentina supports Bolivia co-hosting 2030 football World Cup

    Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Chile are bidding to co-host the 2030 event, 100 years after the first World Cup, with the final at the same venue (Montevideo's Centenario Stadium).
