  “Enough is enough” says PM May, “too much tolerance of extremism in our country”; confirms Thursday election

  

  Prime Minister Theresa May said Britain must be tougher in stamping out Islamist extremism after attackers killed at least seven people by ramming a van into pedestrians on London Bridge and stabbing revelers in nearby bars. After the third militant attack in Britain in less than three months, May said Thursday's national election would go ahead. But she proposed regulating cyberspace and said Britain had been far too tolerant of extremism.

  Corbyn says police should use “whatever force is necessary” to save lives

  

  Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has accused the Conservatives of trying to “protect the public on the cheap” in a speech focusing on the London terror attack. Mr. Corbyn, who has previously questioned the wisdom of a shoot-to-kill policy, also backed the police to use “whatever force is necessary” to save lives. His comments mark the end of a pause in Labor's campaigning after the attack.

  Falklands/Malvinas: Red Cross head of project has arrived in the Islands

  

  The International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC, has reported that final preparations are underway ahead of work to identify the mortal remains of the unidentified Argentine soldiers buried in Darwin cemetery at the Falklands/Malvinas. Laurent Corbaz, head of the project for the ICRC, arrived on Saturday to the Islands. The rest of the team is expected to join him in the coming weeks.

  Falkland Islanders who were held prisoner in the Goose Green Community Hall by the invading Argentine forces in 1982, joined with members of the British 3 PARA to commemorate those who died during the battle to liberate the settlement which happened at 13:30 hours May 29th.

  Brazilian police have arrested Rodrigo Rocha Loures, a former congressman and close friend of President Michel Temer. Rocha Loures was seen in a video released in May carrying a bag with 500,000 Brazilian Reais (US$154,000).

  US unemployment down to 4.3% in May, but fewer jobs were added

  

  United States employers added fewer jobs than expected in May, but the unemployment rate dipped further as the economy headed toward full employment. The unemployment rate last month was 4.3%, falling a 10th of a percentage point to its lowest level since 2001, the US Labor Department said on Friday.

  Six people killed and 48 injured in terror incident in London; three attackers shot dead

  

  Six people have been killed and at least 48 injured in a terror incident in London in which three male attackers were shot dead by police. A white van hit pedestrians on London Bridge at about 22:00 BST on Saturday, then three men got out and stabbed people in nearby Borough Market. Police said the three men were wearing fake bomb vests.
