    Chile praises Beijing for its leadership and rejecting protectionism

    Foreign Minister Munoz said Latin America could do a lot more to stimulate trade with China and called on its nations to take advantage of the talks to improve ties.

    “I apologize to them if I hurt them without realizing it, but it was a wound that I inflicted without meaning to,” said the Pope on Monday. “It pains me very much.”

    Pope Francis has apologized for remarks he made last week in Chile defending a bishop accused of covering up sexual abuse. He said he realized his words hurt many, but repeated his belief that Chilean Bishop Juan Barros was innocent. Francis was speaking to journalists on board a plane flying back to Rome.

    British Army “Ice Maiden” expedition cross Antarctica in 62 days on muscle power

    Over the last two months the team travelled up to 43kms a day, navigating crevasse fields whilst pulling sledges weighing up to 80kg and battling temperatures as low as -40°C.

    The British Army’s ‘Ice Maiden’ Expedition has become the first all-female team to cross Antarctica using muscle power alone. After spending 62 days on the ice and covering 1700kms, the six soldiers led by Major Nics Wetherill and Major Nat Taylor crossed the finish line at the Hercules Inlet at the weekend (Saturday 20th January).

    Jaguar Land Rover plans production cuts on Brexit uncertainty and diesel cars' taxes

    Vehicle makers have blamed Brexit confusion and a hike in diesel taxation for a general fall in UK car sales.

    Jaguar Land Rover will cut production of some vehicles amid uncertainty over Brexit and changes to taxes on diesel cars. The company will scale back output of Range Rover Discovery Sport and Evoque models temporarily later this year. Last week, JLR said its global sales hit a record in 2017, but that the UK market was “tough”.

    Brazil will head to the polls on October 7 in what is set to be the most polarizing presidential race in living memory. While the final ballot is beginning to take shape, there is still a question mark over the candidacy of former president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (Workers’ Party), who may be ineligible to run after his impending appeals court decision on charges of corruption. The imbroglio surrounding Lula guarantees that however the 2018 election turns out, both sides will feel they have reason to call foul play.

    Security officials are dispersing with pellets and tear gas opposition concentration in front of the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, after the opposition convened a peaceful demonstration in protest against the government. So far at least 3 people have been injured by pellets in the confrontation. The protesters were refuging at the University and erected barricades in the street, facing with stones and molotovs the officials while they shoot and throw tear gas bombs inside the university headquarters, according to ReporteYA
