Uruguay leads the 'prosperity index' in Latin America and ranks 30 worldwide

Uruguay is ranked in position 30 at global level among 'high prosperity' countries, according to the 2014 Legatum Prosperity Index, and remains at top position regarding Latin America. It's the same ranking as in 2013 and confirms Uruguay in the leading position for the region for several years running.

Argentine bondholders file for 'me too' at Judge Griesa's court: claims reach 6.5bn

US unemployment down to 5.8%, the lowest since July 2008

The US economy added 214,000 jobs in October, while the unemployment rate has fallen to 5.8%, official Labor Department figures show. The number of jobs created is slightly below forecasts of about 230,000 new posts, but still indicates a healthy US jobs market.
