  Falklands/Brize Norton air bridge will fly to Birmingham two weeks in August

  

  BFSAI has been informed that due to unexpected repairs to the Brize Norton runway there will be changes to the South Atlantic Arbridge (SAA) to the Falkland Islands, between 14-28 Aug 2023.

  The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games to take place from 28 July to 8 August will be preceded by the 16th official Queen’s Baton Relay. An epic journey across the Commonwealth, with the Queen’s Baton visiting all 72 nations and territories, reaching Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania, the Caribbean and in the Americas, among others the Falkland Islands on 7 June 2022.

  Royal Navy will have a Type 26 frigate named HMS Birmingham

  

  Speaking in Birmingham at the Conservative Party conference, the Defense Secretary outlined that one of Britain’s new cutting-edge Type 26 frigates will be called HMS Birmingham, becoming the fourth Royal Navy ship to bear that name.
