For the eighth year, the United Kingdom participated in Montevideo's Expo Prado Show, annual international livestock and agricultural industry exhibition where the largest productive sector of the Uruguayan economy shows its muscle to the thousands of visitors and private and public exhibitors who turn up for each edition. The British Embassy will be present at the Uruguayan Expo Prado 2021 for the eighth consecutive year with a pavilion focused on promoting different initiatives to help combat climate change. A trade mission was held in London from 14 to 18 May to promote Uruguay to UK exporters. Three young people who, judging by their boundless enthusiasm for all things Falkland, could be ambassadors for the Islands after only a week in Stanley and the Camp. Mauricio Giraudo from Uruguay, Marco Franceschini from Brazil and Hristo Gomez, from Chile, are this year’s winners of a competition organized each year by the British embassies in Montevideo, Brasilia and Santiago and sponsored and financed by the Falkland Islands Government.
