How do Falklands and Argentina youngsters learn about history of their countries

A British university research project is being conducted which will examine how youth from the Falkland Islands (or the Islas Malvinas as defined in Argentina) and Argentina learn about the history of their territories and nation-state. The study will also reflect on the perspectives of youth in the region regarding the ongoing tensions between the UK and Argentina.

The Argentine senate unanimously approved Wednesday a bill that bars companies and persons from participating in hydrocarbons exploration and exploitation activities in the Argentine continental platform (which includes the Falkland Islands), and proscribes fines for infractions and barring periods of time from 5 to 20 years for companies that violate the law.

New Decolonization Committee president invited to visit Argentina

Argentina is multiplying its international presence to boost the sovereignty claim over the Islas Malvinas, which next June 23, ‘as every year will be ratified’ by the UN Decolonization Committee, said Argentine ambassador at the UN Jorge Argüello according to a report from Telam, the official Argentine news agency.
