The junior member of the Argentine opposition coalition criticized the policies implemented to address the Falklands/Malvinas by the governments of presidents Carlos Menem, and Nestor and Cristina Kirchner.
With the change of government in Argentina just round the corner, 10 December, the Foreign and Worship ministry presented a Foreign Policy Performance Report of the four-year mandate of outgoing president Mauricio Macri. The report was presented by Minister Jorge Faurie, and chapter 5 refers to the South Atlantic Islands, specifically the Falklands, and also Antarctica.
“I imagine you have gone through moments of great emotion in the Islands, next to the graves with the 112 full names, which until now remained unidentified”, Argentine foreign minister Jorge Faurie was quoted in an official release, on receiving the delegation of next of kin, on their return trip from the Falkland Islands, Wednesday evening.
Argentina announced the full name of the 104th combatant whose remains are buried in the Falkland Islands Argentine military cemetery at Darwin. According to the Human Rights Secretariat, conscript Fabricio Edgar Carrascull, born in Cordoba province was 18 when he died at the Goose Green battle on 28 May 1982.
