    “Good cruise season” for Punta Arenas with some 60.000 visitors

    Currently there are ten ports certified by Chile and the cruise industry, with 194 calls in the 2013/14 season

    Punta Arenas in the extreme south of Chile is expecting some 60.000 visitors this cruise season (2014/15) according to estimates from the local port authority Empresa Portuaria Austral, EPA, which is considered a 'good season' and an improvement over previous years.

    Punta Arenas expects 60.000 visitors this cruise season

    Zaandam was scheduled to arrive on Monday while Le Soleal has been in the area since last week

    An estimated 60.000 visitors will be landing in Punta Arenas, extreme south of Chile during this 2014/2015 cruise season, according to the manager of the Austral Ports Company, Ignacio Covacevich Fugellie. This includes 54.000 from international vessels and another 6.500 of Chilean flagged cruises on domestic tours.
