  Argentine squid exports increased 84% last year compared to 2012

  

  Argentina fisheries exports reached 441,255 tons in 2013, up 19.6% over the previous year when 368,915 tons were shipped abroad. Among the items with outstanding performance figures squid with over 100.000 tons and 84% higher than in 2012, according to the official stats from Argentina's Senasa, National Health and Food Quality Service.

  Argentina's nine month squid exports reach 91.277 tons, up 43.7% over 2012

  

  Argentina exported 329,751 tons of seafood in the nine months of 2013 to September, a figure which shows an increase of 14.9% compared to the same period in 2012, when 286.899 tons were shipped abroad.

  Patagonia province delegation promotes fishery produce sales in Brazil

  

  A delegation from the Argentine Patagonian province of Chubut fishing industry is on a business round of Brazil and the first city to visit was Florianópolis. The group led by Chubut governor Martin Buzzi is also scheduled to visit Sao Paulo and Brasilia.

  Argentine January exports of fish-shellfish down 13.2% in volume

  

  Argentina exported 24.479 tons of fish and shellfish valued at 81.4 million dollars in January 2012, according to the latest statistics from the National Health and Agri-food Quality Service, Senasa. This represents a fall of 13.2% in volume and 5.6% in value compared with the same month last year, 28.198 tons and 86.2 million dollars.

  US extends import duties on shrimp to protect local industry hurt by BP’s oil spill

  

  United States announced this week it will continue import duties on shrimp from Thailand, China, Vietnam, India and Brazil for five more years in a victory for the US shrimp industry hurt by last year's BP oil spill.
