  Falklands: Irish lawmakers support UN Resolution 2065 and dismiss recent referendum

  

  Irish lawmakers expressed support for the compliance of UN Resolution 2065 which acknowledges the Argentine/UK Falkland Islands dispute and dismissed any International law consequences from the recent referendum held in the Falkland Islands ratifying British sovereignty, according to Argentine legislators that were received at the parliament in Dublin.

  Argentina calls on UK for talks on ‘global issue’ Malvinas and ‘demilitarization’ of South Atlantic

  

  President Cristina Fernández once again claimed Argentina’s sovereignty over the Falklands/Malvinas islands and urged the United Kingdom to accept talks and abide by the United Nations resolutions on the matter which has become a “global issue”. The Argentine leader also asked for the demilitarization of the South Atlantic.
