  A 92-year-old woman has been buried in Nebraska with British military honors for a secret that she held for decades: her World War II service as a code breaker of German intelligence communications.   New Zealanders have voted in a referendum to keep their existing flag

  

  New Zealanders have voted to keep their existing flag after a national referendum, preliminary results show. The referendum asked whether the flag which includes the Union Jack should be replaced by a design called Silver Fern, which won an earlier ballot. The results show 56.6% voted for no change, while 43.1% opted for the new design. Just over 2.1m votes were cast.

  Philanthropist who funded recovery of Falklands' SS Great Britain had died

  

  Sir Jack Hayward, the man instrumental in bringing the SS Great Britain back to Bristol, has died. The 91-year-old multi-millionaire helped fund the project to return Brunel's ship from the Falkland Islands in 1970, a journey of 8,000 miles. Known as 'Union Jack' for his patriotism, the businessman was a former owner of Wolverhampton Wanderers.
