  Royal Caribbean and DAP plan to promote Antarctica cruises from Puerto Williams in the Navarino island

  

  A large boost for the cruise industry in Chile, according to the leading newspaper of the country, El Mercurio. Royal Caribbean and Punta Arenas airline DAP are planning to invest some 18 million dollars in the construction of a five-star hotel in Puerto Williams, a small town on Chilean territory, Navarino island, across from Argentina's Ushuaia.

  Ushuaia expects 250,000 visitors in 2022/23 cruise season

  

  Next cruise season, 2022/23, the port of Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego province is expecting 535 calls and the arrival of some 250,000 visitors, according to estimates by Argentine officials attending the Seatrade Global Cruise, the largest fair of its kind which takes place annually in Miami.

  The majestic Norwegian tall ship marked the end of Ushuaia's cruise season

  

  With the departure on Monday of the Norwegian flagged three-mast tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl, Ushuaia, extreme south of Argentina, considered the “successful” 2021/22 cruise season over. According to local port authorities from the province of Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia received more than 200 calls and some 60,000 visitors, since the arrival last 7 November of NatGeo Endurance, and was the only Latin American port that did not interrupt its summer activities.

  Tierra del Fuego Malvinas war commemoration events includes a Time Capsule to be opened April 2082

  

  The Malvinas Veterans from Ushuaia Center has started April 2nd commemoration activities by inaugurating a Dignity Tent at the Malvinas Heroes Square in the capital of the southernmost Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego, Ushuaia and announcing details of the agenda for the following days.

  Founding stone for relocated naval base in Ushuaia with its own wharf

  

  Argentine Minister of Defense Jorge Taiana and the governor of Tierra del Fuego province, Gustavo Melella laid the founding stone of the Ushuaia Integral Naval Base, which will replace the current naval base, and will be built in two phases including 15.000 square meters military wharf.
