Brazil's ruling Workers Party, (PT) has announced its full support for cabinet chief Dilma Rousseff as candidate for the presidential elections of 2010. PT chairman Ricardo Berzoni made the official statement last Wednesday after meeting with President Lula da Silva in Government House, Planalto.

Wiesel foundation looses all assets to Madoff's Ponzi fraud
The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity lost more than 15 million US dollars, nearly all of its assets, in the fraud scheme run by Wall Street financer Bernard Madoff, the fund said Wednesday in a short release.

Four cruises and 8.000 visitors on one day in Punta del Este
Uruguay's main sea side resort renowned Punta del Este received this week four cruise vessels simultaneously and although not all of the 8.000 passengers landed a significant percentage did make it ashore, establishing a record visit.
