Mujica is likely sailing in good waters. So far, he is the the international banks and press' beloved socialist. Let's see if he can keep his goodwill towards the media if, or when, they start to persecute or defame him. Then again, I don't know how Uruguayan media are, that is, I don't know whether the press in there is as nasty as it is in most other South American countries.

@Think, I think you'd be interested in this.

Unfortunately, in my country things are not that easy, President Mujica. I don't like the Kirchners, but in this case they're not so wrong. As an example, Ernestina Herrera de Noble is not as innocent as someone could easily think of her at first sight. Many rich people in my country gave their support to brutal dictators like Videla. Ernestina Herrera de Noble is one of those people.

What a poor paper. So eager to be offensive, it comes accross as hysterical.

I have given this issue a bit of thought during the years.
    Evidently, “El Pepe” has too.....

Fighting the “free press” is like fighting gravity.
Gravity is not “good” or “bad”.
    It is.................

Brawl with it and you’ll fall.
Understand it and you’ll not go down.
Educate about it and others will not plunge.
Employ it wisely and your feats will stand even stronger.

    El Pepe got it………
But yes……………… it is irritating that Man can’t fly :-)

I do like this man. I do. Given this guy's history and life experience, he could easily be a rabid vengeful person. But, no, he's just a man and seems to be a very reasonable one at that. Uruguay - we are so fortunate!
