The UK is heading towards “a dilution of Brexit”, former cabinet minister Theresa Villiers has said. The Conservative MP, writing in the Sunday Telegraph said there was “a real danger” the UK will sign up to an agreement with Brussels which could “keep us in the EU in all but name”. Brexit has been diluted from the beginning. Theresa May and the party leadership establishment don't want to leave the EU -- they've capitulated to every EU demand, and are trying to make a deal that keeps Britain tied to the EU in every way they can, other than formal membership. If Britain is to escape EU control, May will have to be replaced by a PM who really wants to leave -- she won't do it.

    I would imagine immigration is the prime example.

    Irrelevant at any level,they are a migrant force of mostly young people who move around to whatever the relatively low paid work is available.
    Because we do not,as a country ,wish to tackle the labour problem from the other end,which means a high wage economy,then we need these people,for the professional idlers on non contributory benefits will not take the jobs,will they.
    The amount of net migration,which was never properly measured,was of no consequence,and anyone who complained that they were being flooded out by migrants was merely using them as an excuse for their own wilful idleness.
    Migrants live near the job,it reduces overheads,if you live near their job then sell them your property and move as few as ten miles away,bank your profit,start a business with it and join the non victim club.
    It may not be easy,or convenient,but anyone can do it.

    A somewhat biased approach
    I have met some Polish “migrants”. They are not itinerant workers but want to settle and bring up their families HERE !
    There are areas in the country where Doctor's surgeries are creaking with the increase in patients, mainly from the EU.
    There are schools where for the bulk of the pupils, English is a foreign language.
    This requires more resources on an already strained budget.
    Also there are areas where the local British population are in a minority. This makes them feel like strangers in their own country

    “They are not itinerant workers but want to settle and bring up their families HERE !”

    Hard working immigrants who want to settle down and raise a family doesn't seem like much to complain about. ;) The only problem is the sheer number of them. And as far as I know the only place where natives are in a minority is London, and London voted to stay in the EU.

    @merlin
    Some people were complaining that the migrants drove down wages, which is valid I think.

    I am not complaining about workers as such. It is the sheer volume of EU workers in the UK.
    I believe the current figure is 3.4 million. These people arrived over a relatively short period of time and required housing, medical facilities and schools. If we cannot control the numbers coming in, what is there to stop 5 million,10 million. If we stay in the EU then we cannot.
