Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro stated that he “never” considered staging a coup. The former president is currently being investigated by the Brazilian Supreme Court for “inciting” his followers to violently invade the headquarters of the three branches of government on January 8th.

Avalanche leaves 7 dead in Ecuador

At least 7 people died and 46 others were reported missing after a landslide in Ecuador, where authorities had earlier spoken of 16 fatalities but had to review their statements. Another 23 people were also injured in Sunday evening's landslide in Alausi, in the province of Chimborazo, some 300 km south of Quito.

Charles III and Camilla visit Germany and will address the Bundestag

King Charles will make his first foreign visit as monarch on Wednesday, when he and the Queen Consort, Camilla, travel to Germany for a three day visit.. Charles will be the first post-war foreign head of state to receive a ceremonial welcome with full military honors at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, and the first British monarch to address Germany’s federal parliament, the Bundestag.
