On 9 September, we commemorate the 60th anniversary of Ruda’s Statement, the statement delivered by the then Legal Counselor of the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador José María Ruda, before the UN Special Committee on Decolonization. His address was a historic milestone in the sovereignty dispute over the Malvinas, South Georgias and South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas.

Add your comment!Former US President Donald Trump said he felt now less inclined to hold another debate with Vice President Kamala Harris after Tuesday's clash which the Democratic hopeful was deemed to have won, albeit with some assistance from ABC’s moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis, whose performance he found to have been ”dishonest.” Trump also admitted that he would consider a rematch if hosted by “a fair network.” Now it is Harris who was said to be looking forward to another round.

Add your comment!The 10th of September is celebrated as Gibraltar National Day, to commemorate the referendum held on that date in 1967 in which the people of Gibraltar were asked whether they wished to pass under Spanish sovereignty, remain under British sovereignty, with its own self-governing institutions. The result was a landslide victory for the latter choice.
