    Argentina, Chile and Uruguay appeal for an urgent political dialogue in Venezuela

    Malcorra, Munoz and Nin Novoa call on the Venezuelan government, National Assembly and all political forces to sit and dialogue

    Argentina, Chile and Uruguay in a joint statement released on Friday, called for political dialogue in Venezuela and offered to help with a “national reunion” of the political and social forces of the country. The appeal, with utmost respect for the principle of non interference in the internal affairs of Venezuela, was made extensive to the government, the National Assembly, under opposition control, and all political and social groups.

    Six presidents asked to testify of ex president Menem's son death in 1995

    Menem said he believes his son was killed by the Lebanon-based group Hezbollah, which prosecutors also suspect was behind two 1990s bombings in Buenos Aires.

    An Argentine court on Wednesday asked six former presidents to testify in the investigation into the 1995 death of the son of ex-president Carlos Menem. The court requested the testimony of Fernando de la Rúa, Ramón Puerta, Adolfo Rodríguez Saá, Eduardo Camaño, Eduardo Duhalde and Cristina Fernández. All followed Menem as presidents after his 1989-1999 rule.

    The USDA maintained its export forecast of 11.4 million metric tons, however, despite skepticism from market watchers.

    Argentina could export up to 25% fewer soybeans this year than last, analysts said, after severe rains left many fields underwater, damaging oilseed quality. In April, floods inundated key farm areas of Argentina, the world's third-biggest exporter of raw soybeans, prompting the U.S. Department of Agriculture to slash its forecast for soybean output to 56.5 million metric tons this year.

    Monsanto threatens to leave Argentina on a seeds' inspection dispute

    The US company issued a statement saying it was ‘disappointed‘that talks with the Argentine government had not yielded an agreement on the inspection issue.

    The seeds' multinational Monsanto Co. said it would suspend future soybean technologies in Argentina, a move that could limit output of the country’s main cash crop, after a disagreement with the government over inspections of genetically modified soybeans.

The Argentine Ants arrived aboard a yacht which had sailed non-stop around the world from Australia, non-stop that is until huge waves swept the singlehanded 78 year-old sailor overboard and capsized his yacht as he rounded Cape Horn. In a stroke of luck a subsequent wave righted the vessel and at the same time the sailor was able to pull himself back aboard.
