    Argentina set to expand fresh beef exports to Japan and China

    Minister Etchevehere said Argentina prides itself on the quality of its beef, and aims to carve out a significant portion of the Japanese market.

    Argentina is set to expand fresh beef exports to Asia, with Japan and China having already approved import deals, the country's agriculture minister said. Luis Miguel Etchevehere in Tokyo said that Argentina has signed a deal with the Japanese government under which Tokyo will authorize imports of fresh beef from Argentina by late July. His country has also inked a beef export agreement with Beijing.

The first minister said they held a “constructive and positive discussion” during her trip to Brussels. She said she told Mr Barnier that the Scottish government believed the UK should remain within the customs union and single market after leaving the EU.

    Uruguay presented in London as main gateway to Latin America

    Ian Duddy, UK Ambassador to Uruguay said the Embassy in Montevideo can offer services in order to introduce Uruguay as a destination for British exports.

    A trade mission was held in London from 14 to 18 May to promote Uruguay to UK exporters. The mission was organized by Uruguay XXI, the investment, export and country brand promotion agency, along with the British Embassy in Montevideo, the British-Uruguayan Chamber of Commerce with the support of the UK Department for International Trade.

    Odebrecht begins paying debts and fines following financial agreement

    Odebrecht said that Itaú Unibanco Holding SA and Banco Bradesco SA, Brazil's top two lenders, will give Odebrecht a joint loan of 2.6 billion reais.

    Brazilian conglomerate Odebrecht SA's will use part of a 2.6 billion reais (US$709.96 million) bank loan to repay a loan in arrears with state-controlled bank Banco do Brasil SA, according to sources quoted by Reuters. Under the terms of an agreement announced on Friday, the engineering group, at the center of a corruption scandal, will repay a 100 million reais debt to Banco do Brasil.
