  Two thirds of UK young people fearful of post-Brexit prospects

  

  More than two-thirds of young people in the UK have an “international outlook” and many fear for their prospects once the UK leaves the EU, says a report. Ipsos Mori questioned a representative group of almost 2,000 18 to 30-year-olds for a study by cross-party think tank Demos, for the British Council.

  Twelve-month Consumer prices in Argentina reach 22% in August

  

  Consumer prices rose 1.4% in Argentina in August, government statistics agency Indec announced, bringing eight-month inflation to 15.4%. The central bank is targeting national inflation between 12 and 17% for 2017, well below economists' expectations of 22%.

  Juncker: “Britain will regret voting for Brexit”; Farage: “Thank God we are leaving”

  

  Britain will soon regret voting for Brexit, but the European Union will move on, the European Commission president has insisted. In a speech setting out the future direction of the bloc, Jean-Claude Juncker said the UK’s exit would be a “sad and tragic” moment, but it was “not the be all and end all”.

  Brazilian billionaire brothers detained for suspected inside trading

  

  Brazil’s federal police detained the CEO of JBS SA, the world’s No 1 meatpacker, saying he used insider information to avoid hefty losses related to a plea bargain signed earlier this year. Wesley Batista, who has been at the helm of JBS since 2011, was detained under an arrest warrant against him and his younger brother Joesley Batista for suspected insider trading.

  Brazil's 2016/17 crop reached 238.7 million tons: 114 million tons of soybean

  

  Brazil's 2016/2017 crop is expected to reach 238.7 million tons which is 28% higher than the previous year, because of better climate conditions and improved productivity, according to Conab, the country's agriculture stats and food supply company. This includes 114 million tons of soybeans and 97.71 million tons of corn.

  US opens its market for Uruguay's ovine meat with bone

  

  Uruguay has announced that the United States Federal Registry published that beginning 12 October Uruguayan ovine meat, with bone, will have access to the US market. This follows a long decades process which obtained its first milestone at the end of 2013, when access to the US market was granted to boneless lamb and mutton, with the first shipment in early 2014.

  The next round of Brexit talks has been postponed by a week to “allow more time for consultation”. The fourth round of UK-EU negotiations, due to begin on 18 September, will start on the 25th instead.

  FAO forecasts an all time record global cereal production

  

  Global food prices dipped in August, mainly as the prospect of bumper cereal harvests pushed up expectations for larger grain inventories. The FAO Food Price Index declined 1.3% from July, averaging 176.6 points in August.
