  The Falkland Islands have been much in the news of late, and we are extremely grateful for the strong support we have and are receiving from the people and the government of the UK.

  Waters denies having said what he said and blasts Malvinas war

  

  A few days after the Chilean and Argentine media ran the story that Roger Waters had said that the Malvinas Islands belonged to Argentina, the former Pink Floyd lead singer published a note on his Facebook page where he explained that a local journalist “misunderstood” him since he never made such statement.

  Argentina announces a museum for the ARA Belgrano marines killed during the Falklands conflict

  

  Argentine President Cristina Fernandez says a new museum dedicated to the Falklands/Malvinas Islands will honour Argentine marines killed trying to reclaim them from Britain 30 years ago.

  Dalby man has his own island in the Falklands, a photographers’ paradise

  

  There aren’t too many people in the world who can say they own an island, but John Hellowell is one of them. Necker Island it isn’t, but Dalby man John Hellowell is justifiably proud of his piece of paradise – a small nature reserve in the Falkland Islands, known as The Kidneys.

  Change in Argentine policy is “an attempt to collect support and look less mean”

  

  The apparent change in Argentine policy towards the Falkland Islands by offering three direct flights to the Islands from Buenos Aires instead of cutting the air link with Chile, as had been anticipated, was described by Chilean diplomatic sources as “an attempt to collect international support and look less mean”.

  Falklands’ case triggers controversy in St Vincent and Grenadines

  

  The Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines Dr Ralph Gonsalves said that he does not regard himself as a “water carrier” or the “president of a fitness club”, as he defended his decision not to meet with two legislators from a “colonial country assembly” in reference to the Falkland Islands.

  Daily Telegraph readers’ poll says Falklands ‘should be returned’ to Argentina

  

  According to an ongoing opinion poll among readers of The Telegraph on line, over 55% believe the Falklands/Malvinas should be returned to Argentina, and an estimated 14% say the Islanders should hold a referendum to decide.

  Morrissey joins the controversy saying the “Falklands belong to Argentina”

  

  Morrissey has waded into the row over the Falkland Islands telling the audience at an Argentine gig that they “belong to you”. The former Smiths front-man, who counts Prime Minister David Cameron among his fans, made the remarks during a concert in Cordoba, Argentina.

  Puerto Madryn welcomes all cruise vessels; Ushuaia tourism industry blasts the governor

  

  The Patagonian province of Chubut said that contrary to what happened earlier this week in Tierra del Fuego, there is no ban on any cruise vessel flag and all are welcome to dock and make use of the provincial ports’ services, particularly Puerto Madryn which belongs to the South Atlantic sea tourism circuit.
