    Falkland Islands Join Global Celebrations for Commonwealth Day

    To mark the occasion, the Union Flag was raised alongside the Falkland Islands flag on Victory Green at 8:15 am

    The Falkland Islands have joined nations worldwide in celebrating Commonwealth Day, reaffirming their commitment to democracy, peace, and international cooperation within the 56-member Commonwealth.

    Falklands celebrates Commonwealth Day; King Charles III Message

    This year also marks the 60th anniversary of the Commonwealth Secretariat, the executive arm of the association.

    In honor of Commonwealth Day this Monday the 10th of March the Union Flag will be raised alongside the Falkland Islands Flag on Victory Green. This will be in the company of Members of the elected Legislative Assembly, and the Acting Governor Dave Morgan, gathering at Victory Green at 815am. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

    The world's largest iceberg, A23a, has grounded 73 kilometers off South Georgia Island, alleviating concerns about a potential collision that could have disrupted the local wildlife's food supply.     The Electoral Form V MUST be completed by all households with the names of persons eligible for registration as an elector.

    In anticipation of the coming November general election, all households in the Falkland Islands, on Monday 17 March 2025 should receive a Form V “Request for information from householders” in the post.
