Falklands residents both of Stanley and Camp are advised that there will be a disruption to TV and radio services due to sun outages affecting satellite reception in late mid-October.

Improved TV channel service for Falklands audience

The British Forces Broadcasting Service and the Falkland Islands Government would like to inform the public that from Monday 11 December 2023 they will be replacing the BFBS Extra channel with ‘Channel 5’ on all Falklands services for the civilian audience. This new addition of Channel 5 offers a diverse range of programming.

Falklands with ten teams at Guernsey Island Games, plus live coverage

Next week the Falklands Islands will be participating at the Island Games, to be held in Guernsey with twenty-four islands competing and running from July 8/14. Falklands is sending 76 athletes in ten teams, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Bowls, Swimming Shooting, Golf, Table Tennis, Cycling, and Football.

Queen's Baton Relay of Commonwealth Games arrived in the Falkland Islands

The Queen's Baton Relay of the Commonwealth Games has arrived in the Falkland Islands. The baton carries a message from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Head of the Commonwealth, and is travelling around the world prior to the beginning of the Commonwealth Games in April 2018. This tradition began in 1958. The baton visit was organised by the Falkland Islands Overseas Games Association (FIOGA)

Falklands viewers with additional TV channel from December first

From December first 2014, British Forces Broadcasting Service (BFBS) will be broadcasting an additional TV channel, Forces TV, for viewers in the Falkland Islands.
