Former member of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly Dick Sawle has been appointed as Falklands Complaints Commissioner, which is a similar role to that of an Ombudsman in the UK. Sawle was appointed by Governor Nigel Haywood and his post came into effect on 15 January 2014 for a period of two years.

Falkland Islands oil and gas exploration company, Rockhopper Exploration confirmed Monday that its finance director, Peter Dixon-Clarke, plans to step down from his position in early 2014.
Peter Judge MBE has been named as the next Attorney General of the Falkland Islands. Mr Judge, who is scheduled to arrive in March 2014, will succeed current Attorney General Mark Lewis.
