HMS Argyll hosts Prince Charles and Colombian president Santos in Cartagena

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, accompanied by the President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos and First Lady Maria Clemencia Rodriguez, visited Royal Navy frigate HMS Argyll alongside in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia on Friday, 31 October. The party were introduced to members of the ship’s company and witnessed an evening sunset ceremony.

HMS Argyll seizes £ 10 million in drugs in the Caribbean; second bust in three months

A Royal Navy warship has seized cocaine with a wholesale value of £10 million from a yacht in the Caribbean. Just 24 hours after helping in the aftermath of Hurricane Gonzalo in Bermuda, the Type 23 frigate HMS Argyll’s Lynx helicopter spotted the yacht in the Atlantic.

Charles and Camila arrive in Colombia to boost bilateral relations

Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla will pay a nine-day visit to Colombia and Mexico, Clarence House residence announced. The heir to the throne and the Duchess of Cornwall will arrive in Colombia on Tuesday October 28 and will remain until November 2, before leaving for Mexico until November 5.

HMS Argyll sails across the Panama Canal on the last leg of her deployment

South Atlantic patrol HMS Argyll is coming to the end of her seven month deployment and next month is expected back in Davenport. Last week the Type 23 frigate crossed the 80 kilometre Panama Caal sailing two seas in one day, after finishing an intense period of counter-narcotics operation in the Eastern Pacific.

HMS Richmond leaves for seven months Atlantic Patrol Tasking

Portsmouth-based frigate HMS Richmond has sailed for a routine seven months Atlantic Patrol Tasking which includes the South Atlantic. According to the official release she left Portsmouth on Monday 5 August and will maintain the continuous Royal Navy presence in the Atlantic and provide an ongoing protection and reassurance to British regions within the region.

Sailors onboard the South Atlantic patrol Royal Navy HMS Argyll saved the life of a Japanese fisherman who had suffered a serious head injury off the coast of Africa. Approximately 20 miles off the Cape Verde coast she received news that a fisherman onboard the trawler Wakashio Maru No 82 had been seriously hurt in an accident 24 hours earlier.

HMS Argyll begins her West Africa and South Atlantic tour

The Royal Navy frigate HMS Argyll left on Monday from Devonport for the West African region and the South Atlantic to undertake a range of tasks in support of British interests worldwide. She replaces in her South Atlantic tour HMS Edinburgh, ‘Fortress of the Seas’ which is to be decommissioned next June.
