The Falkland Islands' Gilbert House has announced the following arrangements for Sunday 11 November 2018, Remembrance Sunday to take place in Stanley. The Annual Service of Remembrance, this year commemorating the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, will be held in Christ Church Cathedral commencing at 9.30 am.
Queen Elizabeth watched on for the first time in her 65-year reign as Prince Charles led Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Cenotaph in Whitehall. Last month it was announced by Buckingham Palace that Queen Elizabeth asked the Prince of Wales, the heir to the throne, to take on the symbolic duty for the country to honor the country’s war dead.

The elected government of the Falkland Islands has made the following arrangements for Sunday 9 November 2014, Remembrance Sunday, which will begin the annual service to be held at Christ Church Cathedral commencing at 09:30 am and led by Reverend Canon Paul Kerr and other local ministers.
Remembrance Sunday, November 11, was celebrated in the Falkland Islands capital, Stanley with a service at Christ Church Cathedral, followed by a march to the Cross of Sacrifice, the Memorial to all those who laid down their lives for Britain in war, where a service of remembrance and thanksgiving was held in warm and sunny weather.
The Memorial service commemorated the 30th anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands by British Forces, 10 weeks after they were invaded by Argentina. 252 British Servicemen were killed during the action, plus 3 Island ladies.
Milton Keynes North MP Mark Lancaster will be in the Falkland Islands for Remembrance Sunday as the British Government’s representative. HRH the Duke of Kent will also be attending the ceremonies.
A ‘Short Service of Thanksgiving and Commemoration on the Thirtieth Anniversary of the Liberation of the Falkland Islands’ will be held on Saturday 10 November at the Liberation Monument in Stanley in the presence of HRH The Duke of Kent and returning veterans of the 1982 war.
The Royal Navy Type 21 Association raised funds in support of activities to remember those that have lost their lives in war and peace whilst serving in the Armed Forces. The funds were raised at a successful reunion recently held in Devonport where the eight Type 21 ships were based.
