New CEO for Norwegian Cruise Line, Harry Somer

A succession plan for the CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line has been in the works for several years, said Frank Del Rio, CEO of Norwegian’s parent company. It was announced on Tuesday that the current CEO, Andy Stuart, will be stepping down from his post at the end of this year.

A new study has revealed that the Rugby World Cup, (RWC) has fuelled a boom in Japan's tourism from the competing nations. During the period from 12th September to 6th November, which covers the tournament dates and a few days either side, flight bookings to Japan from the competing nations are currently 38.1% ahead of where they were, during the equivalent period last year.

Uruguay expects some 203 cruise calls this 2019/2020 season

Uruguay is expecting 203 calls this coming 2019/20 cruise season, which represents an 11.6% increase over the previous season. The announcement was done by Tourism minister Liliam Kechichian during a conference on the cruise and tourism industry held in the Atlantic seaside of Punta del Este.

China's new US$ 11 billion mega airport has opened its doors, days before the country's 70th-anniversary celebrations. The Daxing International sea star-shaped airport in the capital Beijing was formally opened by President Xi Jinping and is the largest in the world.

Flight details of the new air link of the Falkland Islands with the South American continent, Sao Paulo in Brazil, were uploaded to the LATAM website on Wednesday. After a hiccup in the loading which suggested prices were in the £1000s the computerization was completed and a more attractive price was shown to be available.
